You can be safe at The Shelter

Are you afraid to stay in your home?

The period of time between service and your court date can be stressful and can be frightening for your children. Consider staying with us for a week or two, until your court date.

Our family residence opened December, 2003. There are 12 motel-like bedrooms with baths available for families with children or single women. Single residents sometimes share a large bedroom unit.

There is no cost to your family. We provide basic food and toiletries during your stay. You may purchase and bring any additional food items you want for your family. Each bedroom has local phone service. Each site of four bedrooms shares a living area with a TV and basic cable. A laundry room is available for everyone to use.

Families must share in daily and weekly chores, maintain their rooms and cook and clean up after their family. Mothers are responsible for their children at all times. Children must attend school and follow shelter rules also.

For your safety, there is a 24-hour staff and all residents must maintain the curfew.
